Follow-up work performed
In follow-up experiments (unpublished work) with Methylophilus methylotrophus, balances have been obtained for substrate/biomass and for ratio’s oxygen/carbon dioxide further demonstrating that paraformaldehyde is a suitable carbon source in cultivating this organism.
